FFS hosts launch event for cause-based marketing program
July 11th, 2012
FFS hosted a special event sponsoring our multi-faceted initiative to help prevent cervical cancer in developing countries. Guests included members of the media, local politicians, leaders from professional organizations, customers and key members of the FFS community. FFS associates hosted a BBQ followed by a presentation of our cause-based coffee flavor and marketing program in support of Grounds for Health (GFH), an international non-profit organization.
Highlights included Willy Palmer, Executive Vice President, kicking off the event with our commitment to GFH. Dan Cox, one of the founders of GFH talked about how the program was started with the idea of making a difference in women’s lives in coffee growing regions. Jeff Nichols, Vice President of Coffee, presented the program “Brewing Change” and how one quarter can make a difference in screening and treating cervical cancer. Jeff mentioned how the coffee industry has helped him support his family and contributed to FFS’ success. He stated “This program gives all of us a chance to give back to the women who pick the coffee beans”. Mike Bloom, President, closed with a heartfelt nod to Robert Maleeny the founder of FFS, who believed in, “giving back and helping others.” Desserts based on the three coffee flavors (Mexican Chocolatl, Nicaraguan Rum Cake and Toasted Tanzanian Cashew) were served along with the flavored coffees inspired by GFH.
